Step one

Connect the sources you already pay for

Each connector is scoped to the smallest read permission that returns inventory. No agent is installed, no write scopes are requested, and every sync is logged with the fields it touched.

  • OAuth or scoped API token, granted by you and revocable at any time
  • First sync on a 1,500-device fleet typically completes the same day
  • Field-level scope list published for every connector before you connect it

Step two

Match records without guessing

Matching runs on serial number, hardware UUID, MAC address, and enrollment ID before it ever falls back to a name. When two sources match on nothing durable, AssetView leaves them separate and tells you rather than merging optimistically.

  • Deterministic identifiers first, heuristics second, and always labelled
  • Unmatched records surface as their own queue instead of disappearing
  • You can pin, split, or merge a match by hand, and the change is attributed

Step three

Resolve conflicts with rules you set

Precedence is per field, not per source. Workday can own cost center while Jamf owns location and Coupa owns purchase price. Losing values are kept as history so the record can be explained later.

  • Per-field precedence, editable and versioned
  • Every value carries its source, timestamp, and resolving rule
  • Conflicts that no rule covers land in a review queue rather than being silently picked

Every field says where it came from

This is the part that survives an audit conversation. A reconciled record is not an average of its sources; it is a decision, and the decision is legible.
